Llangadog Gardening Club's 26th Annual Horticultural Show 2007

The doors opened for Llangadog Gardening Club's 26th Annual Horticultural Show on Wednesday 29th August 2007 when the Community Centre quickly filled with loyal supporters. Although entries were down, the judges declared the produce was as good as had been produced elsewhere, in a year when the weather turned back-to-front with a long, hot spell in April followed by weeks of rain.

The Chairman, Mrs Barbara Dodd, thanked everyone for coming. The valuable contribution and comments of the judges were acknowledged, committee members thanked for all the work that goes into staging a show and members for the entries which allow the Show to continue.

There was a special mention for the Llangadog School Competition. The children were thanked for providing 102 entries of paper plates painted with their favourite flower, all of which made a delightful and colourful exhibition as every plate was displayed on stage for judging by Mrs Moira Davies, an enjoyable but lengthy task! The staff were also thanked for their contribution to this bountiful effort.

Presentation of Cups

As well as receiving cups, which have to be returned each year, the winners of the various sections were presented with vouchers donated this year by Farmyard Nurseries, Llandeilo, to purchase plants of their choice, which were greatly appreciated.
